Ada receives the King's Award for Enterprise through Social Mobility

Ada, the National College for Digital Skills, has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise for 'Promoting Opportunity' through social mobility. It is one of 148 UK business which have received the award this year for outstanding achievement.

Now in its 57th year, the award recognizes and celebrates business excellence across the UK, celebrating companies that have demonstrated outstanding success in international trade, sustainable development, and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

The achievement follows a successful partnership with Bank of America to deliver outreach and additional services which recruit and support young people from underrepresented groups into Ada’s Sixth Form and Digital Degree Apprenticeship education programmes and onto aspirational careers in Tech.

Since 2022, the Foundation has supported social mobility at Ada through the Sir Simon Milton Bursary scheme, which supports up to 40 Sixth Form students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

Matthew Sykes, Chief Executive of the Sir Simon Milton Foundation, said:
"All of us at the Sir Simon Milton Foundation congratulate Ada for receiving The King’s Award for Enterprise for Promoting Opportunity. Providing opportunities for young people and increasing social mobility is one of our core aims and as such the Foundation is hugely proud to work with Ada and play a part in providing their students with even more opportunities to gain skills and kick-start their careers."
