For the fourth year running, the Sir Simon Milton Foundation has brought festive cheer to hundreds of Westminster's older residents through their Christmas Hamper scheme.

In December 2017, with the continued support of the Berkeley Foundation and Westminster City Council, the project delivered 370 hampers to some of the most isolated elderly people living in Westminster. Some of the gifts were also awarded to some of the borough's carers, in recognition of the challenging work that they do.

Given at a time of year which can be particularly lonely for many people, the donations can have a huge impact and are always very gratefully received.

Lila said, “I have kindly received a hamper and I am truly grateful I am 88 years old and this is the first time in my life I have received a hamper so something to know about. I would like to thank the whole Foundation, thank you very much for the generosity and kindness towards people like me”.

Doreen commented, “I am absolutely chuffed to bits, a really big thank you once again for the kind gift of the hamper. I turned 90 this year and it has really made my year”.
